Description:
The Dexeus University Hospital is located in an exceptional spot in the city of Barcelona, in the centre of the so-called ‘axis of knowledge’ and where the financial, university and research sectors converge, thus reinforcing its pedagogical vocation.
Description of the project:
The complex maintains its public character of openness to the city and its condition of permeability of routes and uses, open towards the magnificent centenary garden that incorporates the enclosure. The two buildings are connected through the basement of the atrium to serve the logistical and technical parts of the hospital. The old hospital is incorporated into the project, maintaining its listed volumetry and main façade.
